FAQ

Who exactly are you looking for to become a part of The Movement of Change?

Simply, anyone and everyone who has ever desired to do their part to make this a better world but never really knew what they could do to leave a large personal legacy as a world-changer. We believe that almost everyone has felt the calling to express what they've learned in life and wanted to take that life-changing decision to become a respected, published author. At the same time, however, most of us haven't known what to do next, so we created a simple-to-follow program that allows anyone who has felt this way to successfully write a book to positively impact the world. Reading the words of our other authors will help (see above).

Is the mini-book limited to 32 pages?

No, not at all. Mini-books can be any length, but 32 pages is the format we have found that allows you to both write a wonderful, short book in 30 days, AND, get excellent pricing on printing. You can write a longer mini-book if you wish. Remember, your Online Environment allows you to create a meaningful, personal extension of your mini-book that can feature PDF documents, videos, audios, workbooks, journals, etc.

Should I start with the self-paced program or wait until the group begins?

We created the self-paced program for the minority of people whose lifestyle or schedule is not conducive to participating with a group. If at all possible, we strongly encourage you to start with and work with the group. (You will be notified of the teleconference call times in a calendar on our support site.) Trust us on this, the collective energy and inspiration you will receive and your interaction with like-minded, caring new friends will make this a much more meaningful experience.

Am I limited to writing and printing just one mini-book?

Absolutely not. Under this program, you can write and print as many mini-books as you like. However, we strongly encourage you to focus on writing ONE book only during Phase 1. Other mini-books can come later after you have gone through Phase 1 and completed your first mini-book.

Can I choose to not print my mini-book but instead, publish an online Ebook?

Yes, you certainly can. Although we encourage you to write your book with a focus on printing and selling it in bulk, an Ebook can certainly be created to sell online. In fact, an Ebook can greatly enhance the success of your print book!

Should I have my mini-book edited?

Unless you are a professional editor, your book should be edited properly. We can put you in touch with a collection of professional editors who have agreed to edit for our authors at incredibly low prices—as little as $35 for a basic edit…something unheard of anywhere else.

Do I own the copyright to my mini-book and associated materials?

Yes, you are the sole copyright owner of all your work in the Movement of Change. We are not publishers of your book and hold no copyright ownership of your intellectual property. We just help guide you and give you the resources you need to create and sell your mini-book. Also, the content you publish in your online environment is your intellectual property as well. Bottom line: Anything you create within the walls of the Movement of Change is YOUR property and you will own ALL rights to that property.

How much should I sell my mini-book for?

Mini-books typically retail for between $2 and $5 each. This makes them affordable and encourages sales. However, we encourage you to do bulk sales where you will make less per book, but overall more money faster. Phase 4 of our program is a year long marketing course and there will be many opportunities to sell your books.

Do I have input into the cover design of my mini-book and the way the book interior is formatted?

Absolutely! We encourage your input into the way your book looks and feels and authors with just a little graphics design experience have readied their mini-book for printing themselves without added expense. Optionally, we give you access to top notch cover designers to help you create a professional cover that sells. Likewise, we also give you access to interior designers who will professionally lay out the inside of your book.

Will there be a possibility of allowing people to have a sample of my mini-book before they commit to purchase my print book?

Yes, you can create an ebook version of your book (or an excerpt) that you can give away. We also discuss the times that giving away copies of your book makes sense in the overall big picture of marketing your books.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of mini-books being printed and how much does it cost?

We encourage you to print 1000 copies of your book as a starting point. The per unit cost at that quantity is between $0.60 and $0.80 depending upon the paper and cover thickness and various printing requirements. It even drops to an about $0.28 each at 5000 copies.

Are there any other costs?

The cost of our course covers all four phases, including the 52 weeks of book marketing training. There are production costs for any self-publishing author after their book is written -- things such as front & back cover design, interior design, editing, copyright and ISBN number. You can outsource any of these but we have gathered a talented team of artists and editors who have given us deeply discounted pricing. [By the way, we do not receive any income whatsoever from any outside source we recommend.] The printing expenses depend on the volume and quality of cover/paper you choose. Rough pricing is covered in the question above.

I do not live in the U.S. and would prefer to have orders from outside my country shipped on my behalf. Can you help me with this?

Yes, absolutely we can. Many of your books will be sold in the United States and Canada, so we have a fulfillment service that you can use to fill those orders. When your books are printed, you can ask the printer to send half (or more) of your books directly to the fulfillment service. You can have the remaining books shipped to you.

Do you have a general fulfillment service?

Yes we do. Authors don't need to worry about the details of order fulfillment. We believe we should all do what we do best, and for most authors, they're better off writing another book than dealing with day-to-day order handling.

You have many teleconference calls as part of your program. What if I'm not available for some of them?

Yes, there are many teleconference calls to support you, and if you miss a call, you don't have to worry. We record the calls and you can listen to them over the Internet right from the Support Center.

Should I provide samples of my mini-book?

Yes, we encourage this, Your Online Environment is the perfect place to share an excerpt or chapter from your book. You will also learn why giving away your printed mini-book (or Ebook) is a great idea that will help increase sales. We'll provide you much more information as part of the 12-month marketing program.

I've seen authoring programs, without the high vision you guys have, that cost 10 times as much or more than the Movement of Change. Why is the cost so low?

When Neale, Robert, Julian and Rick began discussing the Movement of Change they recognized the special breed of person who wants to change the world but never really knew how they could make a difference—and—they balanced that thought against the reality of our tough economic times. While we've brought a few laughs to professional marketers who said that for the value we offer, we're leaving way to much money on the table, we're sticking to our plan of "making positive world change do-able and affordable", for everyone!

Do you have scholarships available?

In light of the previous question, and the fact that there is a 4-payment option available we encourage you to reach out to family, friends, and co-workers to have them sponsor your efforts to change the world. You can acknowledge them in the book. You could also attract your employer or a small business(es) in your community to sponsor the entire project and give them a certain number of copies along with an ad in your book. The bottom line is that if you make a decision to become part of The Movement of Change and follow through with the information we give you on marketing your books, you won't have any trouble recouping the cost of the course. That philosophy guided the design of this project.
