It’s called ‘a fish story‘, and it’s a movie that will change the way you look at life. And you can receive your own copy of this film on DVD free – I’ll share how below, but first, let me tell you a little more about this life-affirming film.
Nick Stern, a loving father and devoted husband is heading to the lake to put the finishing touches to his wilderness fishing cabin. Suddenly Eddie, a fugitive on the run, dashes across the road. As we enter into the heart of holiday season, the importance of family is on our minds. December’s feature film is a wonderful example of the lasting bond between family members.
From writer/director John Ward (who also wrote and directed Circle favorite I AM) comes Heart of the Country, a timeless tale of healing, love and eventual redemption. With her husband jailed for Wall Street fraud, Faith (country music star Jana Kramer) must leave behind her luxurious New York life and return home to North Carolina and to the widower father (the incomparable Gerald McRaney) and dutiful older sister she left behind. Reunited, they work through buried emotions and learn to be a family again. This touching family film reminds us that a broken heart is sometimes best mended by the one who loved us first.
This month’s selections are rounded out with an exclusive — and smile-inducing — interview with comedian Yakov Smirnoff. According to Smirnoff, laughter is more than just a human response; it’s a gauge of a happy relationship. In his interview with host Lisa Garr, he shares his story, his anecdotes, and his mission for spreading the gift of glee.
