This came to us as one of those popular email forwards we all receive. It’s worth taking a few minutes to read the true wisdom of our children.
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, “What does love mean?” These are some of the answers they received.
‘When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.’

And the final one…
Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said…
“Nothing, I just helped him cry.”

I think that’s great. My mom is a kindergarten teacher, and I’m sure her class would have similar answers.
These are funny, wise and touching. We can learn so much from children.
Love means never having to say you’re sorry.’ Oh yeah?

That’s beautiful. Children are sometimes so on the mark, they see things so simply but truly. Well, and sometimes they’re hilarious…

Sometimes there’s so much wisdom in a child’s words. This is truly amazing! I like the phrase about one’s name in a loving person’s mouth the most! I’m still stunned by the fact those are the words of a 4 year old child.
Sometimes elders need to learn from the younger ones. There is a lot to learn from the answer of the child.

Listening to kids talk about love can be funny and overwhelming as well. I always admire children because their insights are the most sincere and they have purest of intentions. Just like the Bible says, if we want to enter the Heavens, we need to have a child-like heart. Truly, there is so much to learn from children.
‘‘If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,’’
I like this description of love. It’s the most difficult thing to do, but the most meaningful way to express your love to somebody. If you can love somebody you hate, you’re capable of loving a person.
