Chris Widener - Success Quote for Apr 17/17
He who won’t be counseled can’t be helped.
Smart people aren’t people who know everything. In fact, people who think they know everything are eventually considered a bore. No, smart people are smart enough to know that they don’t know everything, and in knowing this they position themselves for success. I have worked with many people who come to me to find out how to grow in some area of their life. This is usually set off by a crisis, by the way. They come to me in desperation. When I try to help them, they have a thousand and one reasons why my ideas wouldn’t work for them. Now when people come to me, I first ask, “Do you want my advice?” Usually they really don’t. They just want to gripe. Unfortunately, they are missing out on the opportunity to grow by getting insight from outside themselves - insight that could change their lives!
Action Point: Can you be counseled? If you can then you can be helped in whatever area you need help in. Take some time today to get someone else’s advice on a situation you are experiencing. Then try to apply the advice. You may just be pleasantly surprised!
