Always look at what you have left. Never look at what you have lost.
~Robert Schuller
Chris Widener’s Action Point: Have you taken a hit lately? Have you lost a battle or made a mistake that cost you dearly? That’s okay, just regroup. I have found that rarely is the loss as large or devastating as we initially believe it to be. A few years ago I had what at the time seemed like a big loss. But when I quit looking at the one thing I had lost and instead looked at the tremendous resources I had in what I had left, everything got right back on track and I am way ahead of where I would have been had I not suffered that loss. The basic fundamental of optimism is to focus in on what you have left and not at what you have lost.
Action Point: Sit down and address what you have lost. Admit it to yourself. Now begin to list all of the current assets you have left! List the people, resources, time, money, etc that you can utilize to further your vision of the future! Now pour your energies into those!
