We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment.
~Jim Rohn
Anything worth having is worth working hard for, yet it is the “working hard for” that we so often avoid because it is painful. True? Yep. Imagine all the great achievements that have occurred in this world and all of the hard work that went into them. There is a greater pain, though one that is delayed in getting to us. But when it finally hits us, the power of it is twofold: Number one, it hurts like the dickens. Number two, it comes so far down the road, there is nothing that can be done about it. Life is over, our chance is gone, and there is no tomorrow. It is the pain of regret. It is regret that we didn’t choose the smaller pain of discipline so many years ago.
Action Point: What is your dream? What is the pain of discipline that you must endure to gain your dream? Name it today. Call your pain out. Then look it in the eye and say to yourself that you will face that pain of discipline each and every chance you get, so that you will not ever suffer the pain of regret.
