Pull the blinds and draw the drapes, turn out the lights and gather the children around this Halloween weekend to listen to “The Beast“. It’s a dark and dramatic piece about prejudice (with a positive ending), written by Larry Thompson and myself, and narrated by Bob Scott. Enjoy!

My Prayer For Peace

Whereas the wounded self can never do the work
of the self healed, I pray that God will give us guidance
and never forsake us, yes, even though the world around us
should crumble and should quake;
I pray for a kinder day, that reason should prevail,
that we should recover and recoup from wounds too severe
for mere mortals to contemplate and to bear;
I pray for peace in our homes and in our lands,
for the Mercy of all Creation to shower down upon us,
that our worst of days and our best of days should be difficult
to differentiate one from the other;
I pray for the Earth, the Mother of us all,
no more to be neglected , assaulted, and assailed; Read more

As I awaken with the gift of yet another day and prepare for the tasks at hand, I offer up this most ardent prayer:
I pray for continued clarity of purpose so that I may hold my vision steady and keep my focus on the needs and success of others, which in turn shall bring me my success.
I pray for the wisdom to expect abundance in my life, that it surrounds me and is available for the taking and to be shameless and unapologetic upon its receipt, for I deserve abundance. Read more

The name “Benedict Arnold” is synonymous with “traitor.” But he was actually a loyal citizen of what was to become the United States, a gallant soldier and a five-star general. Wounded twice in battle, he was highly respected for his military leadership. He even enjoyed the friendship of George Washington.
But during the Revolutionary War, Arnold saw five subordinates promoted over him, and the blow to his esteem was more than he could manage. The injury to his pride was far greater than those physical injuries he sustained in battle. So he laid plans to get revenge. Read more
